eVA Learning Experience - Buyers
The eVA Learning Experience provides Buyers with the
knowledge, skills, and resources they need to use eVA with confidence in their
daily work. Whether you're new to eVA or building on your existing knowledge,
training is designed to help you learn at your own pace, practice what you've
learned, and apply those skills on the job.
All Buyers begin with the self-paced training, Level 1:
eVA Buyer Essentials, which builds a strong foundation in purchasing, order
creation, and receiving. For Buyers whose roles include more advanced
procurement responsibilities, Level 2: eVA Fundamentals builds on that
foundation with training on eVA's Sourcing and Contracts tools.
Beyond the foundational courses, Buyers can access a variety
of resources—including eLearning,

Virtual
Instructor-Led Training (V.I.L.T.), and guided practice—to reinforce
skills, support daily tasks, and continue building eVA expertise.

How to Access Training
Self-Paced Learning - Essentials Level 1 & Foundations Level 2
Complete training anytime through the Virginia Institute of
Procurement Learning Management System (LMS).
Available 24/7, allowing you to learn at
your own pace.
Virtual Instructor-Led Training (V.I.L.T.)
Join live, interactive training led by experienced
instructors, open to all learners!
Monthly eVA Virtual Instructor-Led Training (V.I.L.T.)
sessions offer hands-on, online training to help users navigate eVA’s
procurement tools effectively. Complete your pre-work, which consists of
eLearning modules, videos, and simulations, and then attend the V.I.L.T. for
live demonstrations of eVA functionality:

Before enrolling in a V.I.L.T. session, complete all required self-paced
training in the LMS.
Steps to enroll in a Virtual
Instructor-Led Training (V.I.L.T.)
Step 1
Create or log in to your LMS
account.
Step 2
Open the eVA Training Catalog.
Step 3
Complete all required self-paced
courses.
Step 4
Enroll in a Virtual Instructor-Led
Training session.
o After you have completed all the self-paced training and/or required requisition upload, you will have the option to enroll in the V.I.L.T. session(s), starting with eVA Essentials – Level 1 (Orders and Requisitions V.I.L.T. and/or Receiving V.I.L.T.) and moving on to eVA Fundamentals – Level 2 (Sourcing V.I.L.T. and/or Contracts) if needed.
Step 5
You will receive a confirmation
email from the LMS after enrolling. A Zoom link to your live session
will be
emailed the morning of.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I started an eVA Buyer training previously; is my
progress saved?
Yes. Any previous work is still completed. You may start eVA Essentials – Level 1 to complete any additional eVA Learning Experience prework.
Do I have to complete self-paced training first?
Yes. Required self-paced training must be completed before you can enroll in a V.I.L.T. session.
Where do I access eVA training?
All training is available through the Virginia Institute of
Procurement Learning Management System (LMS).

V.I.L.T. sessions are open to all learners who have
completed their self-paced learning, eVA Essentials/Fundamentals. If your
organization has an authorized eVA trainer, check with them before registering
for a DPS-led session.
